Getting false eyelashes to go on correctly is hard enough already, but what happens when you end up getting eyelash glue on your clothes? On the one hand, you’re trying to keep your eyelashes in place, but on the other, you’re freaking out because you don’t want to ruin your clothing!

No worries, I’ve definitely been there more times than I’d like to admit. This is the exact reason I wanted to share with you how to get eyelash glue off clothes, without needing to spend a bunch of money on fancy products to save that great shirt or dress.

What is Eyelash Glue Used For & How Do You Use It?

    what is eyelash glue

You may already know, but eyelash glue is meant to hold on false eyelashes. It comes in a variety of different colors, including white, clear, black and brown.

The color you get is partially a preference, but could also change based on what color your eyelashes are.

If you’ve never used quality fake eyelashes you may not know how to properly apply glue. It can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially when applying the glue is just half the battle. You have to make sure the eyelashes are the proper length, that you’re using the correct lash on the correct eye and not on your favorite dress.

First you want to find one of the top-rated eyelash glue options available and affordable for you. Once you have one, apply a thin layer to the line of the eyelash and wait around 30 seconds before applying it to your eyelid. This allows the glue to get tacky and will make it secure better.

    Eyelash Glue Remover

One of the easiest ways to remove eyelash glue is to use an eyelash glue remover. Most products are made from gel and have easy to follow instructions. While it can be a pain to have to spend extra money on a product to get the eyelash glue out of your clothes, it may be worth it in the long run.

There are plenty of options available on Amazon. If you don’t want to wait, consider asking an esthetician or your local beauty shop for a product that they’d recommend. While you’re waiting, consider soaking your clothes in warm water to keep the damage from getting any worse.

How to Remove Eyelash Extensions Glue from Clothes

    how to remove eyelash extensions

Eyelash extensions are becoming more and more popular. While there are plenty of ways how to remove eyelash extension glue from clothes, how do you know which one is best?

First off, make sure that the remover you use is professional grade. This let’s you know that it is high quality and will work well. Make sure all your eye make-up is removed so that you can easily see where your eyelash extensions are.

When you take off your make-up to do this, make sure you’re not using a cotton ball or anything else that can leave fibers behind.

Consider using under eye patches to protect your skin. These can be found at most drug stores and have added benefits such as reducing under eye circles and bags! Also make sure you have two spoolies on hand that you can throw out when you’re finished. This is what you’re going to use to apply the eyelash glue remover.

Also be sure to do this one eye at a time, since you’ll need to have whichever eye you’re working on closed while dissolving the glue. This is important and keeps the glue and chemicals from getting inside your eye.

Let the remover sit on your lashes after being applied for around three to five minutes. This allows the remover to tackle the glue and makes it easier for the lashes to come off. Clean up your eyes by using make-up remover.

If you don’t want to do it yourself, you can ask the professional that applied your eyelash extensions to use a solvent to dissolve the glue on the lashes.

Most stain removing products will tell you how long to wait, this applies to products that remove adhesives as well. After applying the product, wait for a set amount of time. After that time is up, gently scrub the area until you can noticeably see glue coming off.

After this you’ll want to warm up some white vinegar and pour it onto any remaining glue. Allow this to soak for around half an hour before you remove the glue again.

If you find yourself with glue on your clothes and you’re wondering how to get it off, there are several routes to take. One of the easiest I’ve discovered is by using a stain remover that can dissolve glue and adhesives. One of the more popular options you’ve probably heard of is Goo Gone

Once you have this, take your shirt or article of clothing that has eyelash glue on it and spray or pour a bit of the stain remover onto it. Depending on which remover you choose, you may want to use a towel instead of just pouring it onto the clothing directly.

Repeat until the glue is out completely, or as much as possible. Wash your article of clothing as you normally would to ensure that chemicals from the stain remover have been washed out.

    Natural Eyelash Tips and Tricks

After you’ve gotten out the glue from your clothes, you make want to give your eyelashes some extra love. One of the more popular things people have been doing to give their lashes some tender loving care is by moisturizing them using a natural oil, such as coconut oil

Doing this every night before bed helps your lashes stay healthier and makes them stronger!

If you’re applying falsies and want to give them a bit more volume, apply mascara to the false lash and your natural lash together. This not only makes your lashes look more full, it can help the false lashes adhere a bit better, in addition to the glue.

Another thing you can do to make your eyelashes pop is to warm up your mascara before using it! This can be done several different ways, including using your natural body heat and sitting on your mascara as you get ready at your vanity.

If that seems a bit taboo for you, you could also plug your sink and fill it with hot water and allow your mascara tube to sit in the hot water for awhile. Lastly, the easiest way to go about doing this is by blasting your mascara tube with your hair dryer on hot!

One of my favorite things to do that is not only great for eyelashes, but our eyes and the skin surrounding is to use green tea bags! Take a used green tea bag that is no longer hot and lay them across your eyes with your eyes closed. This not only helps with the bags under your eyes, but it can also make your lashes look longer, fuller and it will keep you alert thanks to the caffeine!
